2004-07-12 - 10:04 a.m. Yoohooo! It was the weekend of injuries. Jim nailed a stone wall head-on whilst he was dodging a car on his road bike. Thankfully, he's OK. Not so thankfully, his road bike is not OK. I had a little freakish moment when the world stopped turning...I got a staticky phone call during which I could only hear, "crash...car...need you...pick me up..." Eeee. Still, some part of me heard that he was talking somewhat steadily, and with all of his facilities, although I wouldn't put it past him to be calmly tying some sort of tourniquet around his bleeding stump of a leg whilst placing a call to me. Anyhow. As it turns out, his bike is damaged, he is not. He is a little shaken, though...he says he hit the wall moving at about 30 miles an hour. Ouch. We went to work with IMBA for Trails Day that following Saturday, and I pulled a hamstring. At least it was for a good cause. I like trailwork. I like it a lot. It just means a lot of bed rest for my stupid hammie, though. Hell-oooo, the tri is only a few weeks away at this point...! I guess I'm now old enough that I have to stretch even if I'm just doing trail work...!
