2004-08-16 - 4:13 p.m. Hi there-- Wow, what a crazy weekend. We had loads of fun. It still feels whirlwindy to me, a little bit, but I'm happy to report that two full days is enough in that paradise I call Maine, or, at least, enough to keep me from spontaneously combusting. I'm adding a few photos this time, damn it. But I'm still new at it, so if this doesn't work, you'll just have to excuse me. Here is my first attempt. This is our dinner:
And maybe I will try to publish some other photo later on. For now, I think I will let you know that although the new kitchen is beautiful and fantabulous, the drawers are very sticky from the humidity, and we couldn't find the nutcrackers for the lobster, so we used one of the cast-iron pans. Smash! Bang! Lobster stuff everywhere. Lovely. What good fun! What incredible lovely destruction! What noise! It was just beautiful. Here is another photo:
This is what happens when you take two tired swimmers and put them next to a kayak. Never mind that there was a perfectly lovely floating dock right next to us; I thought I'd try something new. Today I'm feeling vaguely guilty for not doing much work. But I have to tell you, I am just getting less and less enamoured and bored as days go on here. Sigh. What a pity. And a waste. Gr. Now I can't flip my photo so that it sits properly. I shall have to fix it another time. For now I am remarkably short-tempered.
