Just found out that a dear friend's father has meningitis. They're not sure if it's viral (bad) or the other thing (not so bad), but he's in very good health and I am harboring all sorts of hope that he'll make it through, very serlfishly for the sake of my friend, who has been through a crappy ass year, is just now going through a divorce, and needs a break of the emotional sort. He certainly doesn't need this now.
